Chelsea’s double swoop of Roma pair Edin Dzeko and Emerson Palmieri will only be partly successful.
As reported by Sky Sport journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, left back Emerson Palmieri is set to join Chelsea for €20 million plus €8 million in bonuses. The Brazilian will fly to London and undergo a medical tomorrow.
As for the Bosnian striker, the Blues deemed his €7 million after-tax salary on a 3-and-a-half-year contract request too high. Dzeko is now expected to remain at Roma, while Chelsea are close to signing Oliver Giroud from Arsenal.
