Napoli | Mercato update

The Ancelotti era at Napoli is underway and the club is working on the transfer market.

All of the following is reported by Gianluca Di Marzio.

Jorginho’s move to Manchester City is expected to be completed shortly. The final details are being worked out.

Napoli will sign Fabian Ruiz from Real Betis as a replacement.

Club captain Marek Hamsik’s future is still undecided. If he stays, Ancelotti could use him in a more defensive role.

The club’s top choice to sign a starting goalkeeper is Alphonse Areola but PSG would like to keep him. The Frenchman’s contract expires in 2019 so PSG could be forced to sell him this summer if he won’t sign a contract extension.

Meanwhile, Napoli have made an inquiry with Arsenal for Petr Čech on loan and will make another attempt for Udinese’s Alex Meret.

Napoli’s are still pursuing right-back Stefan Lanier but Salzburg haven’t accepted their offer yet.
