Napoli’s summer plans under Ancelotti

After the official appointment of Carlo Ancelotti yesterday, Napoli have now turned their attention to the transfer market.

Gianluca Di Marzio has revealed some of the club’s summer plans.

First, the possible departures.

While club captain Marek Hamsik’s future is unclear, Chinese clubs would need to pay Napoli at least a €30 million fee.

While Manchester City remains interested in midfielder Jorginho, Napoli is still asking for €60 million.

De Laurentiis isn’t willing to provide any discount at all on Kalidou Koulibaly while Ancelotti asked for Dries Mertens’ future at the club to be confirmed.

As for potential signings, Di Marzio says that there were many names mentioned when Ancelotti met with De Laurentiis, some of which could become realistic based on potential sales of existing players and the competition on the market.

The list mentioned by Di Marzio is as follows below.

Goalkeepers: Alphonse Areola, Bernd Leno, Rui Patricio.

Defenders: Thomas Meunier, Šime Vrsaljko, Jérôme Boateng.

Midfielders: Arturo Vidal, Renato Sanches.

Wingers: Federico Chiesa, Simone Verdi, Suso.

Strikers: Karim Benzema.
