Inter dwarf rivals Juve in salary spend

Ahead of this Sunday night’s Derby d’Italia clash between Inter and Juventus, Gazzetta dello Sport reports that the Nerazzurri only spend around half the money of their rivals on player salaries.

The Italian sports paper suggests that Inter pay out between €130 and €150 million on wages, while rivals Juve splash out €320-€350 million each year. The figures suggested are gross and include bonus payments, and they show the discrepancy between the two sides expected to compete for the Scudetto this year.

Former Bianconeri boss Antonio Conte will look to negate any such financial gulf this weekend as he looks to get one over on his former employers. Inter currently sit top of Serie A, having won their opening six matches for the first time since 1966/67. Meanwhile Juve trail by just two points but remain unbeaten, their only draw versus Fiorentina in Week Three.
