Italy qualify for Euro 2020

Italy ensured qualification for Euro 2020 on Saturday evening, thanks to a 2-0 win over Greece in Rome.

A Jorginho penalty opened the scoring, and Federico Bernardeschi sealed the victory with a superb individual effort on 78 minutes.

Azzurri boss Roberto Mancini oversaw the side’s eighth consecutive victory, one that saw his team achieve their place in next summer’s tournament with three qualification rounds to spare.

The Coach is now just one win short of equalling the Italy all-time winning run of nine games in a row, set by Vittorio Pozzo in 1938/39.
