Italy to celebrate the Renaissance in throwback green kit

Italy have announced that they will be wearing green in their forthcoming UEFA Euro qualifier with Greece on October 12th.

This shirt is a nod to time the Azzurri wore green in 2-0 win over Argentina in December 1954, a fixture that was played at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome just as is scheduled for the match versus Greece.

The design features an all-over graphic which is “inspired by the Renaissance, celebrating the past, present and future of Italian culture,” according to the official FIGC website.
