Milik | โ€œIโ€™m sorry for missed chances versus Genkโ€

Speaking to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Napoli striker Arkadiusz Milik made an apology for missing chances in his sideโ€™s disappointing 0-0 draw with Genk in the Champions League, but admitted he would like to be featured more regularly in the starting XI.

โ€œVersus Genk I was particularly sorry about the third chance I missed. I hadnโ€™t played in a month, I was lacking that instinct and faith in myself.

โ€œMy relationship with [Carlo] Ancelotti? At Napoli, there is a lot of rotation and itโ€™s difficult to guess if you will be left out or not, but itโ€™s no good to make excuses and instead I must make the position my own.

โ€œOf course, at the moment itโ€™s not easy. However, I must continue to work hard with patience and consistency, only these things will help me to achieve that consistency.

โ€œ[Fernando] Llorente? Competition is a good thing, and I have a lot to learn from him. I am definitely at my best when I play in the middle of the attack. I think our best formation is when [Dries] Mertens and [Lorenzo] Insigne flank a central striker.

โ€œAt Napoli there is a fiery atmosphere. People live for football. They comment on every match, they know every single player. They can be critical but mostly they are warm and encouraging. Iโ€™ve always felt, especially during the times when I was out injured, that they are waiting for me to return to the side.โ€
