Update on Higuain’s future

The future of Gonzalo Higuain remains up in the air.

The Argentine striker has genuinely thought about leaving the Rossoneri during the current season, according to Romeo Agresti of Goal Italia.

Pipita did not take sporting director Leonardo’s recent comments too well while he also realizes his future at AC Milan is directly linked to qualifying for the Champions League.

Meanwhile, there is his former coach Maurizio Sarri waiting in the background.

Chelsea’s main doubt is Higuain’s age as owner Roman Abramovich prefers investing in younger players.

As Juventus still own the 31-year-old striker, they are looking for guarantees in the short-term and long-term.

Higuain joined Milan this past summer on a €18 million loan deal with an option to buy for €36 million but the end of the story is still unknown.

Milan have already begun to explore options in case Higuain departs, notably Genoa striker Piatek.

Meanwhile, Juventus could be open to Higuain joining Chelsea on an 18-month loan as the Bianconeri await a call from London.
