Speaking to Rai Sport while on international duty with Italy, Lazio defender Francesco Acerbi cast doubt on the chances of a renewal with the club, with his current deal expiring in 2023. The centre-half points out a lack of respect on the part of the management, while dismissing reports that have come out regarding an extension.
“In the newspapers, I’ve read things that weren’t true, whether that’s on what they’ve offered or on the numbers. There are places to do these things, and that’s not in the newspaper, because I feel I’ve always been respectful towards the club.”
“I expected at the very least that they show me respect as well, or at least that we talk about this in an appropriate place. It’s annoyed me, because if this is the attitude they have, maybe renewing won’t be on my mind anymore, if they go on like this.”
