Chelsea’s Emerson speaks on lack of playing time and opens door to Serie A return

During a press conference while on international duty with the Azzurri, Chelsea full-back Emerson commented on his playing time with his club and on his future. His words transcribed by Sky Italia, the 26-year-old spoke about his limited action this season, hinting at the possibility of a Serie A return as early as January.

“We’ll see, football this year is quite strange, and so is the transfer market. Unfortunately, I’m not playing much at Chelsea, but I’m calm and I think that things can improve whether that’s in London or somewhere else.”

“Lampard spoke to me, we’ll see whether in two months I’ll be able to earn a spot at Chelsea or if I’ll need to think about somewhere else.”

“There has been some interest in me, but nothing concrete. I’d like to return to play in Italy, but I can’t say if that will happen in January or in five years’ time. In football everything changes too quickly.”
