Daniele Rugani on living wth Covid-19: “I consider myself lucky to have had the coronavirus in a mild form.”

In an interview with Sky Sport Italia, Juventus defender Daniele Rugani discussed his experience having been the first Serie A player to contract Covid-19, and his subsequent recovery.

“Now I’m well and in good spirits, the worst has passed and it’s been a peculiar month. The important thing is that everything’s gone well, I consider myself lucky to have had the coronavirus in a mild form.”

“Two days after the game against Inter, my temperature went up after training and I felt strange, I felt warmer than usual. Out of precaution, I decided to go straight to Continassa [Juventus’ training ground], then the doctors did their jobs in the right way and we controlled the stuation better.”

“The day after the fever had gone up, at the start I was scared but the doctors reassured us, especially in my girlfriend’s situation, but they told us that during pregnancy the virus doesn’t cause problems. Day after day it improved, this gave us strength and positive energy, and helped us a lot in the 35 days in lockdown.”
