Edin Džeko now Juventus’ first choice amid delays in Suárez deal

Multiple sources, including Corriere dello Sport and Gazzetta dello Sport, report this afternoon that Juventus have now decided to move for Roma striker Edin Džeko as this summer’s attacking recruit.

With a holdup in Luis Suárez’s attempt to secure Italian citizenship in order to complete a move to Turin, director Fabio Paratici will have deemed the wait too long and turned towards the Bosnian as a potential deputy in the forward line.

Nevertheless, any transfer for Džeko would depend on the arrival of Napoli’s Arkadiusz Milik in the capital, with the Pole seemingly closing in on a switch in order to act as the outgoing striker’s replacement. An offer on the part of Juve of €15m for the Bosnian would reportedly be enough to trigger the striker merry-go-round, with a transfer worth €25m in view for Milik.
