Fiorentina today held a meeting with Hellas Verona during which they presented an offer for 23-year-old Moroccan midfielder Sofyan Amrabat, according to Gianluca di Marzio.
La Viola’s proposal is however lower than the €20m currently being proposed by Napoli.
Fiorentina have convinced Amrabat of the project that they are offering him and the player now has a decision to make: negotiate contract terms with Napoli, or wait to see if Fiorentina improve their bid to Hellas Verona.
Amrabat has already played for Hellas Verona and Club Brugge this season and is therefore not eligible to play for a third club this season per FIFA regulations.
The transfer therefore might be enacted now but only formalised in the summer, or Napoli or Fiorentina could purchase him and loan him back to Verona until the end of the current campaign.
