Italian Minister for Sport bans training sessions for the next ten days

In a video posted on his Facebook page, Italian Minister for Sport Vincenzo Spadafora declared that clubs would be prohibited from restarting training sessions for the next ten days. The matter of returning to training had been a point of contention between representatives of Serie A teams, with notably Lazio president Claudio Lotito pushing for an early restart.

“We have ten important days ahead of us, which will be complicated, where we will be able to see the difference and from after Easter see more evident results. This is why, for the next ten days, all sports competition at all levels will remain banned. But we must ask for a greater sacrifice from our athletes, so we have also banned any form of training in any facility.”
