Lazio’s Igli Tare on Napoli interest for Immobile: “Immobile is Lazio and Lazio is Immobile. It’s a strong link and I think he will stay for many years.”

In an interview today with Sky Sport Italia, Lazio Director of Sport Igli Tare spoke about the club’s potential transfer dealings and the challenges that the next transfer window will pose.

“I think for everyone [the transfer window] will change a lot, not just for Lazio, because a once in a lifetime event has happened and as a result we have to adapt. We need creativity, but most of all clarity to understand how to proceed to plan out the present but also the future. We have no need to sell right now. On the other hand, I think top quality players’ prices will not fall. Obviously, for those at a medium and lower level they will be lowered.”

“Immobile was never contacted or requested by Napoli, because Immobile is Lazio and Lazio is Immobile. It’s a strong link and I think he will stay for many years.”

“[Extending] Inzaghi is a priority of ours, his works is under the eyes of everyone. His relationship with this club goes beyond something normal, because he’s been here for twenty years and nobody feels this shirt more than he does.”

“I didn’t hide it in January and I won’t hide it now, in the final days of the window we had the opportunity to bring Giroud to Rome. We tried to get it over the line because Giroud is Giroud, and even if he is 33 he’s still fit, very good and has great international experience. It would have been a great signing for us. I was able to meet him and get to know him and it was a pleasant meeting because I got to know a great person, a great professional with great motivation, but at the same time I understood that his priority was to stay in London because his family had lived there for years.”
