In an interview with Sky Sport Italia concerning the upcoming transfer window, Roma Director of Sport Gianluca Petrachi highlighted the club’s willingness to keep hold of both Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Chris Smalling, on loan from Arsenal and Manchester United respectively.
“I think that, as the numbers have confirmed, [Mkhitaryan and Smalling] have been two succesful loans. Unfortunately Henrikh was unavailable for some time due to physical issues, but he’s doing well here just as Smalling is: his wife is very happy to be in Rome.”
“The club will do everything it can to keep both of them , especially seeing as they want to stay. We’ll see later on if we manage it, but we feel that we have both players by our sides.”
