Roma’s Petrachi on Leipzig’s option on Schick: “They’ll try to get a discount on him, but we’re not here to beg.”

Roma Director of Sport Gianluca Petrachi, in an interview with Sky Sport Italia concerning the upcoming transfer window, has spoken about Patrik Schick, currently on loan at Bundesliga outfit RB Leipzig, indicating that the Czech striker is worth more than the option to buy set in the deal.

“[Schick] is a player for whom Leipzig have an option to buy, for the middle of June, but they are still hesitating, to understand what to do. And it’s not because they haven’t had the chance to do so. They’ll try to get a discount on him, but we’re not here to beg.”

“He is also one of those players who, should he not stay at Leipzig, has been asked for, there is a market for him. It’s fine that the Germans are taking their time, but it’s one of those case where if the option to buy is not taken we can earn even more.”
