Serie A puts forward 13th of June as start date with training sessions set to go ahead from Monday

In a statement released on the league’s website this afternoon,  Serie A have announced that following a meeting between club representatives, the 13th of June has been agreed upon as the date for the campaign to resume.

La Repubblica report that 15 clubs voted in favour, with Sassuolo, Napoli, Torino, Udinese and Sampdoria voting against the proposed date. The fate of the current Serie A season will now be subject to the government’s decision-making.

The announcement comes following Minister for Sports Vincenzo Spadafora’s speech in parliament in which he declared that the Italian FA would modify its medical protocol as requested, allowing for team training sessions to resume from next Monday.
