Gasperini on Atalanta’s disallowed goal v Roma: “I expect an explanation.”

Atalanta boss Gian Pieri Gasperini has stated that he expects an explanation from the referees for disallowing Duvan Zapata’s goal against Roma.

Zapata’s goal from a corner came in the second-half and it would’ve made the scoreline 2–2. But the goal was disallowed, as Jose Palomino was close to the ball and was in an offside position.

Gasperini spoke to DAZN and stated: “It wasn’t easy. We certainly made mistakes, but also did good things. On the first goal, there were many rebounds and they put us in difficulty, but then we recovered.

“The incident at 2-2 changed everything, but I expect an explanation. If Palomino has touched the ball, he is offside. Otherwise it is Cristante’s own goal. It is not possible, with the Var having so many cameras. Maybe Roma win anyway, but it would have been another match with an Atalanta who were in a great moment “.
