Giroud on Milan’s win over Verona: “I’ve waited for a long time.”

Milan striker Olivier Giroud has talked about the Rossoneri’s dramatic comeback win over Verona in Serie A on Saturday.

Giroud was on the scoresheet, helping the Rossoneri find a route back into the game as he headed Rafael Leao’s cross into the net to make it 2-1. Franck Kessie’s penalty and Koray Gunter’s own goal helped Milan complete the comeback at San Siro.

Giroud spoke to DAZN about the game and claimed: “I’ve waited a long time for this moment. I missed the competition. In the first half we didn’t do well but the reaction was important.

“I still don’t feel 100% but I am growing and I feel better. This victory is a joy, I can’t wait to go celebrate with my teammates. In the first half there was a lack of quality, in the second half we could only do better and we succeeded.”

After the win, Milan went to the top of the league and they remain unbeaten in the competition so far, along with Napoli.
