Inter’s Lukaku seeks redemption in Chelsea move

Romelu Lukaku’s reasons for returning to Chelsea have now been revealed, with one reason being the Belgian viewing the move as a shot at redemption.

Gianluca di Marzio has reported about Lukaku’s future, saying that he has informed Inter of his desire to leave and join Chelsea. Chelsea’s first offer for the striker wavered the player’s intentions and he’s now keen on a move.

The journalist also states two reasons for his wishes. With the first being Lukaku viewing this as a chance to prove himself at the club where he first broke through. He hadn’t convinced too much in his first spell and he wants to set things right at Stamford Bridge. It is a purely sporting decision for him.

The second reason pertains to Inter’s situation following the exits of Achraf Hakimi and Antonio Conte. He had refused a move to Manchester City some months ago when the duo was there but their exits have changed his mind. He believes that the project is now downsized by economic issues.

Inter are now working to find an agreement with Chelsea and the Milan club want to earn as much as they can from the move.
