Italy boss Roberto Mancini has stated that he is confident that the Azzurri will qualify for the FIFA World Cup while making it through the play-off round.
The Azzurri were held to a 0-0 draw by Northern Ireland in Belfast in a game that they should have won by a big margin, considering Switzerland’s 4-0 win over Bulgaria to top the group.
After the goalless draw, Mancini talked to Rai Sport and stated: “I told the boys that we can’t do anything now. Now we have the match in March, we will prepare well for it.
“We just have to find what has distinguished us from others till now now. The group had been kept in control, now we are recovering our strengths. Playoffs? I’m confident.”
