Lille star open to Milan idea after Arsenal failure

Lille star Renato Sanches is said to be open about the idea of joining Milan after an Arsenal move failed.

Carlo Laudisa from La Gazzetta dello Sport has reported that Sanches now wants to move on from Lille and he already has his ‘bags ready’. Milan like him and the player has given a positive response to interest from the Rossoneri.

Arsenal had come in with an offer last summer but Lille turned it down because it didn’t meet their financial demands. They wanted a fee of €35 million at that point.

Milan are looking to replace Franck Kessie in the event of his likely departure for free and they are looking around at midfielders to target. Sanches has been waiting for the right opportunity, having previously been linked with Juventus and Roma.

The example of Mike Maignan appeals to Sanches, considering that the ex-Lille man moved from France and settled in very well at the Rossoneri. The relations between the two clubs are very healthy and that can help Sanches getting the move. The Portuguese wants €5.5 million in wages and that is something that Milan could afford.
