Manchester United have made their first contact for former Chelsea and Inter manager Antonio Conte.
This comes from Daniele Longo, who has reported that United are increasingly convinced of sacking Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after the defeat to Liverpool. While Conte doesn’t like to take over clubs in the middle of the season and he has stuck by that mantra, he is willing to make the exception for United.
He has opened to the possibility of replacing Solskjaer right away, with the Italian of the belief that he can adapt with the current side and he can give them the lift they need.
Initial contact has been made between the two parties but it depends on Solskjaer’s future and when he will be given the marching orders. Because of the time that the Norwegian has on the deal, there is uncertainty about whether he will be sacked or not.
But one thing remains certain, contact has been made and Conte is waiting for further signals.
