MLS vice president Lino Di Cuollo had arrived in Naples recently to talk to the agent of Napoli star Lorenzo Insigne.
Insigneโs contract runs out next summer and while Inter and Manchester United are interested, agent Andrea DโAmico was also present in the meeting which took place in a famous restaurant in Naples. DโAmica is the same agent who negotiated Victor Osimhenโs move to Napoli and also played a role in Sebastian Giovincoโs move to the US. There has been a suggestion that an executive from Toronto FC was also present in the meeting, report La Gazzetta dello Sport.
Insigne and his agent were present too and they had lunch together with the MLS executives. The idea of moving to the US has been described as โfascinatingโ for Insigne and they could offer well more than what Napoli can offer.
Black smoke emerged from the contract talks between the Partenopei and Insigne. Parties are very distant in their demands and there seems to be no possibility of an agreement right now.
