MLS vice president in Naples for talks involving Napoli star

MLS vice president Lino Di Cuollo had arrived in Naples recently to talk to the agent of Napoli star Lorenzo Insigne.

Insigne’s contract runs out next summer and while Inter and Manchester United are interested, agent Andrea D’Amico was also present in the meeting which took place in a famous restaurant in Naples. D’Amica is the same agent who negotiated Victor Osimhen’s move to Napoli and also played a role in Sebastian Giovinco’s move to the US. There has been a suggestion that an executive from Toronto FC was also present in the meeting, report La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Insigne and his agent were present too and they had lunch together with the MLS executives. The idea of moving to the US has been described as ‘fascinating’ for Insigne and they could offer well more than what Napoli can offer.

Black smoke emerged from the contract talks between the Partenopei and Insigne. Parties are very distant in their demands and there seems to be no possibility of an agreement right now.
