Milan boss Stefano Pioli has been gushing about Rafael Leao, after the Rossoneri picked up a 2-0 win over Venezia.
Pioli had a chat with Sky Sport after the game on Wednesday and he spoke about a host of issues. He praised Brahim Diaz’s improvement in the current campaign and also hailed Sandro Tonali’s performances in the new season.
But the Italian was also asked about Leao and he had praise for the Portuguese too. He claimed: “The best thing was to find the players on 8 July to have considerably improved, more aware and more convinced of their means. This means that last year’s work has paid off: we are talking about a young boy who found himself at playing in a difficult league like Serie A.
“It was nice to find Diaz, Tonali, Krunic and Leao better than before: evidently they have assimilated the work of the last season. Leao can win us any game, we always expect decisive plays from him like goals and assists.”
Leao had scored for Milan against Lazio a week ago and he was involved in their goals against Liverpool too. Against Venezia, the ex-Lille star did well for the Rossoneri too, even though he didn’t contribute goals.
