Roma boss Jose Mourinho has confirmed that Lorenzo Pellegrini informed him of his desire to sign a new deal soon.
Mourinho was interviewed by Sky Italia following Roma’s 5-1 win over CSKA Sofia in the UEFA Conference League. He was asked about the situation of Pellegrini, amidst talk about his new deal and his current deal expiring next summer.
Mourinho claimed: “He is a super quality player, with great potential, but you have to ask him if I made him improve. He said that in the next few days he will sign the contract and this will give more strength to the relationship with the fans. He is the captain, he will sign the renewal and this will be very important for us.”
Pellegrini grabbed a brace in the game and he has impressed for the Giallorossi under Mourinho, who has praised him multiple times.
