Roma hold positive meeting regarding Pellegrini’s extension

Jose Mourinho’s Roma are said to have held a positive meeting regarding a contract extension for the club’s midfielder Lorenzo Pellegrini.

Calciomercato have reported that the meeting between Pellegrini’s agent, Giampiero Pocetta, and Tiago Pinto has been a positive one. The meeting took place in Trigoria.

This was the first chance for the club to have a face-to-face meeting with the midfielder’s agent, after having held telephonic conversations multiple times. The outcome was reported to have been a ‘positive’ one even though formal negotiations are yet to start.

Sky Italia also confirmed the meeting, with Pellegrini’s current deal set to run out in the summer of 2022 and he’s said to be attracting interest from Tottenham Hotspur. Roma want to extend his contract and potentially remove the release clause in his new deal
