Roma make failed enquiry for Arsenal star Lacazette

Roma have made an enquiry about Alexandre Lacazette in their attempt to replace Edin Dzeko and the Frenchman is one of the names on their shortlist to replace the Bosnian.

La Gazzetta dello Sport have reported about the striker situation at Roma, claiming that Jose Mourinho’s main choice is Mauro Icardi and the Argentine does believe that the Portuguese can help him relaunch his career. But other options include Gianluca Scamacca, Haris Sefererovic (who has been offered to Roma by his agent) and Sardar Azmoun.

Lacazette is someone that Roma have made an enquiry for but the relations with Arsenal are said to be at an all-time low, considering how the Granit Xhaka deal has fallen through.

The Frenchman would only leave if he is offered the promise of Champions League football and Roma can’t guarantee that. As a result, things don’t look likely on the Lacazette front.

Icardi looks much more likely in that regard and it could be done if the striker is willing to lower his salary and join on a two-year loan deal.
