Tensions between ultras and players after Roma’s 6-1 loss to Bodo/Glimt

Tensions had spilled over between the Roma players and ultras, after the club lost 6-1 to Bodo/Glimt in the UEFA Conference League.

The loss on Thursday was the Giallorossi’s first defeat of the season in Europe and it was their second consecutive loss in all competitions, as they lost to Juventus as the weekend. They have previously lost to Lazio and Verona too.

Il Messaggero have claimed today that after the game, players like Lorenzo Pellegrini and Tammy Abraham had gone over to talk to the ultras following a team meeting. The meeting with the ultras lasted five minutes and during that, Pellegrini tried to give his jersey to the fans but it was refused by the ultras.

The players tried to apologise to the fans and Pellegrini, the captain, led from the front. Roma’s next game happens to be against league leaders Napoli.
