Although the confirmation from Alessandro Bastoni’s agent that the player will be at Inter, reports have continued to state that Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur remain alive in the race for the Inter defender.
While answering the questions with Corriere della Sera, transfer guru Gianluca Di Marzio has claimed that Inter could change their stance on Bastoni’s future at the club should a substantial offer arrive from his suitors in the summer.
On the matter, the transfer expert comments:
“The defender’s agent, Tullio Tinti, was clear: ‘Bastoni remains at Inter.’ The situation, in reality, is not so defined. The class of ’99 is one of the most appreciated players within the Nerazzurri squad, especially in the Premier League. The interest of Tottenham and Manchester United remain alive in him: in the event of an indispensable offer, his stay in Milan would not be taken for granted.”
Tottenham Hotspur have recently been joined by Manchester United in the pursuit of the 23-year-old centre-back. The defender has a contract at the Milan-based club until June 2024.
