Arsenal reach an agreement with Monza for the sale of Pablo Mari

Pablo Mari will arrive at Monza on Wednesday and will undergo his medicals this afternoon after Arsenal found an agreement for his sale.

According to Italian transfer market specialist Gianluca Di Marzio, Arsenal have reached an agreement with Monza for the sale of the Brazilian defender.

The report confirms that the Serie A newbies closed the deal for the centre-back on Tuesday evening. Pablo Mari will join the Italian club on a loan deal with an obligation to buy, which comes into consideration in the event of their survival in Serie A by the end of the 2022/23 campaign.

Having failed to make Mikel Arteta’s first team, the 28-year-old left Arsenal to join Udinese on a six-month loan in the winter transfer window of 2021.

After moving to Udine, the defender came up with a series of dominant performances, attaining the eyes of other Italian clubs in the process. Hellas Verona were also interested in the player. But, beating all competition, Silvio Berlusconi’s club has apparently won the race for the Brazilian defender.
