German side Bayern Munich are set to closing a deal for Juventus defender Matthijs de Ligt this summer.
De Ligt had interested Chelsea, who had initially led the race for the defender. But Bayern then entered the race and they now seem close to signing the Dutchman.
Gianluca di Marzio has reported that Bayern are confident of signing the player and they are looking to find an agreement for the player as soon as they can, especially after they obtained money from the sale of Robert Lewandowski.
They had made their third offer for the player and they are pushing to close the deal, as they look to strike a verbal agreement with the Bianconeri by today. They will look to close the deal by early next week – preferably by Monday or Tuesday.
Chelsea were initially looking to offer Timo Werner in the deal for the player but the move didn’t materialise. As things stand, the fee for De Ligt’s move to Bayern stands at €70 million plus bonuses of €10 million.
