Brighton close to appointing ex-Sassuolo boss Roberto de Zerbi

Premier League side Brighton and Hove Albion are close to appointing Roberto de Zerbi as their next manager.

Gianluca di Marzio has reported that only the final details are missing for the agreement, with the Italian now closer and closer to signing for the Seagulls.

An agreement is now closing in on a move and once the final details are sorted out, the announcement will be made from the English side.

De Zerbi had his contract at Shakhtar Donetsk terminated earlier this summer, which means that Brighton will not shell out a fee to sign the ex-Sassuolo boss. The Italian had impressed during his stint at the neroverdi, attracting praise from across Europe and Italy.

It was previously stated that the last few bits of the agreement were missing and the transfer for the manager was in an advanced stage. The English media have also confirmed that the move is close to completion.
