Brighton edge close to appointing Roberto de Zerbi as manager

Former Sassuolo manager Roberto de Zerbi is now close to joining Premier League side Brighton as the new manager.

Brighton’s former boss Graham Potter has already joined Chelsea and the Seagulls are looking for a new permanent manager, with Andrew Crofts the current interim boss.

Gianluca di Marzio has reported that De Zerbi is close to joining Brighton soon and talks are now at an advanced stage for the closure of a transfer. The Italian is currently said to be willing to join the side from the south of England, following positive contacts and talks between the two parties.

No agreement has been reached yet, as both parties are working to find one. Only important steps are left to define the signature of the Italian. Talks are expected to continue in the next few hours. If De Zerbi joins Brighton, he would be the second Italian manager in the Premier League after Antonio Conte.
