Chelsea to hold talks with Inter for Denzel Dumfries

Chelsea don’t wish to leave the pursuit of the former PSV star Denzel Dumfries, with a new set of talks with Inter scheduled in the coming days.

A report from la Repubblica claims that Chelsea will hold a meeting on Thursday with the representatives of Inter to progress the talks regarding Denzel Dumfries’ potential summer move to the Premier League club.

The Londoners have been showing interest in the wing-back for some time now. They also submitted a bid of around €25 million, which subsequently got rejected.

As per the update, the Nerazzurri have asked for a transfer fee of around €35 million in return for the permanent departure of the 26-year-old Dutchman.

Todd Boehly’s men will thus hold another set of talks with their counterparts in the next few days to close the gap between the supply and the demand.

Chelsea seemingly understand that Inter need funds amid this summer transfer window and will push for the signing of the Dutch wing-back.

But Inter, on the other hand, are reluctant to let the player leave on cheap terms as Dumfries is bound to the Italian club’s contract until June 2025.
