“We are different,” former Chelsea and Napoli boss makes Lazio comparison

Former Chelsea and Juventus boss Maurizio Sarri compared his Napoli team to his current Lazio side following the latter’s 2-0 victory over Sampdoria on Saturday evening.

Speaking to DAZN after the game, Sarri opined,

“It was a good match, to win against the last Sampdoria, which found a certain balance, you had to do well. better manage only the recovery, even today we had 65% ball possession having the dominance of the game. We are different from my Napoli who was dribbling while this team is at a break but we always have control of the game.”

Under the stewardship of the Tuscan manager, the Naples-based side indeed was one of the most watchable sides in Serie A. Though, Sarri’s stint at Napoli ended trophyless.

Lazio, currently led by the former Scudetto and UEFA Europa League winner, have done well lately, with the Biancocelesti hoping to finish inside the top six of Serie A by the end of the 2021/22 season. Sarri has led Lazio to garner 62 points from 36 games this season.
