Chelsea set to include two players in a deal for Juventus’ Matthijs de Ligt

Chelsea are making decent progress in their efforts to land Matthijs de Ligt from Juventus this summer, as per the reports in England.

According to Matt Law‘s report in The Telegraph, Chelsea are open to including either Timo Werner or Christian Pulisic in a potential deal for Matthijs de Ligt.

Juventus were initially determined to hold onto the defender’s release clause of around €120 million. But the negotiations with the Blues have softened those demands.

As reported previously, Juventus have given the green light to add a counterpart in a deal for the defender, which has relatively reduced the overall valuation of the transfer.

The recent developments in the transfer saga have made the prospect of a transfer much more realistic. De Ligt likes the idea of moving to England and playing Champions League football under the management of Thomas Tuchel.

With Giorgio Chiellini leaving Juventus for Los Angeles FC, the Old Lady could lose another central figure of the team’s defence this summer.
