Cristiano Ronaldo’s agent still trying for Napoli move, Sporting remains last resort

Jorge Mendes is still trying to place Manchester United’s Cristiano Ronaldo at Napoli and Sporting is said to be the last resort.

While the agent of Victor Osimhen has blocked a potential move to United for the Nigerian, it seems as if Mendes continues to try to send Ronaldo to the Maradona Stadium.

Carlo Laudisa has reported that even though Antony is very close to joining United from Ajax, Mendes has travelled to Manchester yesterday to potentially look at ways to make sure that the Red Devils do not sign the Brazilian. In his head, Mendes was said to have doubts about whether the Antony deal can really go through and he was still confident that United will use the big money to sign Osimhen.

It is stated that the super agent still doesn’t rule out the possibility of placing Ronaldo at Napoli and bringing Osimhen to United. The Red Devils already opened up to paying a majority of Ronaldo’s wage in a deal for Napoli but other intermediaries have informed him that Osimhen could yet attract offers from other Premier League clubs.

Mendes’ last resort though, is Sporting and he could travel to Lisbon soon to talk about a move for CR7.  While Sporting can’t bear his salary, the case with Napoli shows that financial adjustments can be made.
