Davide Frattesi: “I wanted to return to Roma”

As reported recently, Manchester United sent a scout to keep tabs on Davide Frattesi in Sassuolo’s latest 5-0 win over Salernitana.

On Saturday, Sassuolo were up against Inter, who narrowly beat the Neroverdi with a 2-1 scoreline, thanks to a brace from Edin DĹľeko. Frattesi was the only scorer for the home side.

Following the match, he was seen discussing his future at the club. Speaking to DAZN (via Forzaroma.info), the 23-year-old also admitted that he was keen on joining his former club Roma in the last summer transfer window.

The Italian midfielder said:

“If this will be my last year at Sassuolo? I try to do my best, and then these are things that my agent and the director will talk about. I started the training camp badly because I wanted to return to Roma, and then nothing happened. I had a lousy retreat and I rolled up my sleeves. To try to go to a top club, I have to do well at Sassuolo. I’m happy, and I’ll give everything as long as I stay.”
