Fiorentina are seeking a replacement for Álvaro Odriozola, who will return to Real Madrid this summer. The name of Manchester United’s Diogo Dalot has emerged out of the blue.
Today’s edition of La Nazione claims that Fiorentina have identified two right-back options in Lyon’s Léo Dubois and Man United’s Diogo Dalot to replace the services of the Spaniard, who will leave Florence for Madrid following the completion of a season-long loan spell in the summer.
Having joined the club last summer, Odriozola spent a decent campaign for La Viola. In Serie A 2021/22, he made 25 league appearances, having racked up one goal and one assist. Although the numbers could have been better, it remains the overall development in his game that has caught the observers’ attention.
The 26-year-old feels that he is ready to play for Real Madrid, where the full-back has a contract signed until June 2024. Therefore, he will not sign a permanent deal with the Florence-based side.
As for the replacements, Lyon is asking for a reported transfer fee of €12million for Dubois, while concerns over Dalot’s future could lead to an Old Trafford exit for the Portuguese full-back.
Having played for Milan before, Dalot, 23, possesses the experience of playing in the top tier of Italian football. But Dubois, 27, is the most senior of the two. The report further notes that Nikola Milenković could be another player leaving Florence this summer.
