Fiorentina’s transfer for Arsenal midfielder hits an impasse

Fiorentina must wait to complete the permanent transfer of Lucas Torreira, with the Arsenal loanee enjoying a fantastic spell under Vincenzo Italiano.

According to Corriere dello Sport, Fiorentina’s effort to sign the Uruguayan on a permanent deal has hit an impasse, with disagreements over the agent’s commissions reportedly slowing down the negotiations.

The report understands that La Viola have not reached an agreement with Pablo Betancur, Torreira’s agent, on the economic front yet. It is suggested that the will of the midfielder will be decisive in any potential deal, but there is no indication that a transfer will not go through.

The reports believe that the Florence-based club has an option to buy worth €15 million in Torreira’s contract. La Viola are willing to sign the diminutive midfielder permanently.

The 26-year-old joined Fiorentina from Arsenal on a season-long loan deal last summer. Since joining the club, Torreira has made 29 appearances for the Italian club, notching up five goals and one assist in the process.
