Ex-Milan boss Rino Gattuso in Singapore for talks with Valencia

Former Milan and Napoli manager Rino Gattuso is in talks to become Valencia’s next manager.

Gianluca di Marzio has confirmed reports from TMW recently, claiming that Gattuso has flown to Singapore to meet executives of the Spanish club and talks are continuating, thanks to his agent Jorge Mendes’ excellent relations with Peter Lim’s club.

Lim is actually based in Singapore and he is always said to have had close ties with Mendes, with Valencia having had numerous clients of the agent at the club in the recent past. One of them is Goncalo Guedes, who has been linked with Roma.

It is said that negotiations between the two parties have been positive and are proceeding in the right direction. Last summer was turbulent to say the least for Gattuso who had previously signed with Fiorentina , only to end the relationship after less than a month.

After the very brief spell in Tuscany, the former Milan midfielder was also close to Tottenam after their failed negotiation with Paulo Fonseca. In this case, however, Gattuso did not even sign with Spurs given the strong criticism of the fans against his arrival.
