Harry Kane makes Boxing Day history following goal against Brentford

Tottenham and England striker Harry Kane made history, following his excellent header for Spurs against Brentford.

In a game which saw Spurs go 2-0 down in the second half, it was Kane’s header that helped Antonio Conte’s side pull one back. Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg scored some minutes later and equalised for the Lilywhites.

The goal was Kane’s 13th in the league season and it was his tenth ever goal on a Boxing Day fixture. And as per Opta, this is the highest goalscoring tally of a single player in Boxing Day fixtures’ history. The Englishman has scored in all seven of his Boxing Day games.

Kane has 13 goals in the league season so far, but the Englishman has one goal and two assists in the Champions League as well. For England, he scored two goals and racked up assists in the World Cup. While he did miss a decisive penalty in the final, his Boxing Day record is certainly exceptional.
