Inter set to seal move for Lazio’s Francesco Acerbi

Inter are now set to seal their move for Lazio’s veteran centre-back Francesco Acerbi.

Gianluca di Marzio has reported that Acerbi will now be a new Inter player and the deal to bring the Italian to the San Siro has now been unlocked by the Nerazzurri.

Steven Zhang, who was previously against the move, have now said ‘yes’ to the transfer and documents are now being exchanged between the two parties to finalise the details of the move. Simone Inzaghi wanted to sign a centre-back and Acerbi was his wish, having worked with him at Lazio.

Acerbi had joined Lazio in 2018. During his four-year stint at the Biancocelesti, the Italian international has made 173 appearances while scoring ten goals for the club. Inzaghi coached him at the club between 2018 and 2021. He hasn’t featured for the club under Maurizio Sarri this season, having endured a poor 2021/22 campaign.
