Inter striker Lautaro Martínez: “Is Scudetto still a goal? No”

Inter lock horns with Viktoria Plzeň in a Champions League fixture on Wednesday. Ahead of the game, Lautaro Martínez faced some tricky questions in the pre-match press conference. One of them was about Inter’s chances of winning the coveted Serie A title this season.

Admitting that Inter had already lost so many points in the league, the Argentinian striker stated that it was now about making a full-fledged recovery. As quoted by TuttoMercatoWeb, the 25-year-old marksman said:

Is the Scudetto still a goal? No, we have lost too many important points. We only think about recovering.

Inter started well but then lost track of their purpose in Serie A, losing matches in succession. However, they have now started regaining the rhythm, albeit gradually. From 11 matches in Serie A this campaign, the Nerazzurri have amassed 21 points with seven victories.

As for Lautaro, the scoring boots have started clicking once again, with the forward having garnered six goals and two assists from 11 league matches thus far. In the Champions League, the Argentina international has only bagged one goal. He will be looking to extend his goalscoring numbers against the Czech side.
