Investcorp prioritise contract renewal for Milan star after the takeover amid interest from PSG

Milan’s potential new owners are reportedly looking to extend Rafael Leao’s contract immediately after securing the purchase of the club.

Today’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport understands that Investcorp will try to extend Leao’s stay until June 2026 amid the growing interest in the player from Paris Saint-Germain.

As things stand, the current terms of the Portuguese winger run until June 2024. A contract extension will also secure an increase in Leao’s annual salary.

As per the report, the potential owners would like to offer Leao an annual net salary of €4.5million. It is believed that the 22-year-old is fine in Milan and would like to continue his venture in Italy.

Milan’s current owners, the Elliot management, have been trying to get Leoa to sign a new deal at San Siro for a long time, but their efforts have not met success thus far. However, Investcorp are willing to put an end to the uncertainty around the winger’s future immediately after the takeover.
