The agent of Chelsea midfielder Jorginho has revealed that they are currently giving priority to staying at Stamford Bridge.
Recent reports have stated that Jorginho is expected to leave Chelsea for free in the summer and he will be replaced by Enzo Fernandez, who impressed during the World Cup. Newcastle United are said to be interested in the Italian.
Jorginho’s agent Joao Santos recently spoke to Tuttomercatoweb and he gave his views about the future of his client, stating that his priority is Chelsea and Napoli have made no contact regarding a potential return to the Partenopei.
The agent stated: “Jorginho’s contract expires on June 30, we have a renewal proposal and we give priority to Chelsea. Naples represented our home in Italy, Giuntoli greatly appreciates the boy, for us it is a special place. If there was a new interest we would be happy, but at the moment Napoli have not made contact with us.”
Jorginho has made 14 Premier League appearances this season for Chelsea and has scored once, with the goal coming against Manchester United from the penalty spot. He has also played every Champions League group stage game for the Blues, perhaps showing how important he still is for the team.
