Jose Mourinho after Roma’s draw v Sassuolo: “We were betrayed by the attitude of an unprofessional player”

Roma boss Jose Mourinho has stated that the side was betrayed by the poor attitude of a particular player in their 1-1 draw against Sassuolo.

Mourinho’s side are at the risk of falling down the table because of the draw against the neroverdi as a win for Juventus tomorrow could put them inside the top four of the Serie A. While Tammy Abraham broke his duck, Andrea Pinamonti equalised some minutes later.

After the game though, Mourinho spoke to DAZN (via TMW) about the performance and he revealed that one player’s attitude had let the team down but he didn’t name that player.

“We had a good match, with a positive, serious attitude, it was two difficult days. We were a team that wanted to win against a difficult opponent. I’m sorry that the team’s effort was betrayed by an attitude of an unprofessional player. “

When asked about whether he was going to name the player in question, the manager refused outright and didn’t publicly speak about the player.

“I’m not saying it, I had sixteen players on the pitch and I liked the attitude of fifteen. I told someone why this attitude is only for today and not always. Now we will try to end this period with three points.”

Mourinho also spoke about Abraham and praised the Englishman, but also confirmed that he is not sure whether Paulo Dybala will feature in the upcoming game against Torino.
