Jose Mourinho following Roma’s 1-1 draw v Juventus: “At half time, I told players that I was ashamed of them.”

Roma manager Jose Mourinho has revealed his half time team-talk following the Giallorossi’s 1-1 draw against Juventus.

The Bianconeri had impressed a fair bit in the first half, as Dusan Vlahovic struck early through a stunning free-kick. Roma recovered in the second half and Paulo Dybala assisted Tammy Abraham for the equaliser.

Mourinho spoke about Roma’s poor performance in the first half and he told DAZN (via TMW) what his team talk comprised of.

The Portuguese stated: “I said to the team at half time that I was ashamed of them, let’s not talk about tactics because it wasn’t a question of numbers. I prayed  for it to finish at only 1-0. In the first half, the game could have been closed. Fortunately, in the second half we saw a completely different team.”

Juve had 14 shots on goal but could get only three on target. Roma took eight shots but could get half of them on target. Max Allegri’s side enjoyed 57 percent of possession as well.

Roma remain above Juve in the table due to the result, with the Bianconeri having picked up only five points from three games. Roma have seven points from three outings, as things stand.
